Adrian Peterson Biography

Adrian Lewis Peterson, born on March 21, 1985, is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League. Peterson has competed in 15 seasons within the NFL, establishing a long-standing presence in professional football. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners, where he set a freshman rushing record with 1,925 yards during the 2004 season. Peterson concluded his collegiate career as the third-highest rusher in Oklahoma Sooners history. Selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the seventh overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft, he began his professional career with the team. In 2013, he became the third-fastest player in NFL history to accumulate 10,000 rushing yards. After becoming a free agent in 2017, he signed a two-year contract with the New Orleans Saints, was later traded to the Arizona Cardinals, and was released following the conclusion of that season.
