Adam Thielen Biography

Adam Thielen, born August 22, 1990, is an American former professional football player who played as a wide receiver in the National Football League for 13 seasons. He played college football for the Minnesota State Mavericks and joined the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2013, remaining with the team for a decade. Thielen set multiple NFL records, including eight consecutive games with over 100 receiving yards and 74 receptions during the first half of a single season. After redshirting in 2008, he appeared in nine games as a freshman in 2009, recording 21 receptions for 252 yards and one touchdown. During the 2012 season, he became the primary target in Minnesota State's passing game and served as the team's starting return specialist, contributing to a 13–1 record and a trip to the NCAA Semi-finals. His performance earned him recognition on the NSIC South Division All-NSIC first-team, the Daktronics Super Region No. 3 second-team, and the Don Hansen Super Region second-team. Following a strong preseason showing in both offensive and special teams roles, he secured a position on the 53-man roster to begin the 2014 season.
