Aaron James Judge, born on April 26, 1992, is an American professional baseball player who has played as a right fielder for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball. He has been selected as an All-Star eight times and has won the American League Most Valuable Player Award on three occasions. Judge played collegiate baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs before being chosen by the Yankees in the first round of the 2013 MLB draft with the 32nd overall pick. After debuting in the major leagues in 2016, he was awarded the American League Rookie of the Year in 2017, receiving unanimous votes, and finished second in MVP voting that same year. In 2022, Judge claimed his first MVP award after establishing a new American League single-season home run record, surpassing the long-standing mark previously held by Roger Maris. He earned his second MVP award in 2024, winning unanimously by leading the league in home runs and on-base plus slugging percentage, and becoming the fastest player in MLB history to reach 300 career home runs. Judge has served as team captain for the United States national baseball team during the 2026 World Baseball Classic.
