A.J. Hawk, born on January 6, 1984, is an American football player and sports analyst who has competed in the National Football League for 11 seasons. He was chosen by the Green Bay Packers with the fifth overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft and later secured a Super Bowl title with the team. As a freshman at Centerville High School, he earned a spot on the varsity football team. He played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes under coach Jim Tressel from 2002 to 2005. On September 24, 2006, he recorded eight combined tackles, including five solo, and registered his first career sack during a game against the Detroit Lions. On January 12, 2008, he started in his first playoff game, making one solo tackle in a victory over the Seattle Seahawks. On December 26, 2010, he made six combined tackles, five of them solo, deflected two passes, and intercepted his third pass of the season in a win against the New York Giants.
