Rod Carew Biography

Rod Carew was an All-Star in 18 of his 19 MLB seasons, including his 1967 Rookie of the Year campaign for the Minnesota Twins. He played with the Twins up until the 1979 season, where he joined the California Angels. His jersey #29 has been retired by both the Minnesota Twins and California Angels. Rod Carew was an infielder never known for his power, hitting only 92 career home runs, rather for his ability to make contact and he was a 7x American League batting champ. Carew batted .388 in his MVP season in 1977 for the Twins. Carew was a first ballot Hall of Famer, voted into Cooperstown in 1991. Twins and Angels fans alike will look for Carew to sign photos, baseballs, and his retired #29 jersey with inscriptions HOF 91, 67 ROY, 18x All Star, or MVP 77.
