Hines Edward Ward Jr. was born on March 8, 1976, and has served as a wide receivers coach and associate head coach for Arizona State. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round of the 1998 NFL draft and played as a wide receiver in the National Football League. Ward spent his entire professional career with the Steelers, becoming the team's all-time leader in receptions, receiving yardage, and touchdown receptions. He was named MVP of Super Bowl XL and, upon retirement, was one of eleven NFL players to record at least 1,000 career receptions. In addition to his NFL career, Ward has appeared in film and television, including a role in the 2012 movie The Dark Knight Rises and the series The Walking Dead. In 2019, he began his coaching career as an offensive assistant for the New York Jets, working with wide receivers coach Shawn Jefferson. In 2021, he joined Florida Atlantic as special assistant to the head coach.
